Christine Cauffield, Psy.D., Founder, Director, President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Cauffield is the former President and CEO of Coastal Behavioral Health, Inc., a 22 million dollar organization, operating 58 programs, serving 12,000 patients annually, throughout Florida. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and a nationally recognized expert in geriatric neuropsychology. Dr. Cauffield is a Governor Appointee on the State of Florida's Substance Abuse and Mental Health Corporation, which provides oversight for all state health and human services agencies. Dr. Cauffield has over 20 years of management experience in behavioral healthcare. She received her doctoral degree from the Florida Institute of Technology and completed her internship and post-doctoral residency at Harvard Medical School. Donald Masters, Founder, Director Mr. Masters is coordinating the financing and legal activities of the company as well as its strategic business vision. Mr. Masters has over 15 years of experience as a corporate executive to the CEO level in rapidly growing private and public companies. He has founded and been an executive and also a general counsel with several public and private corporations. He has also been a business consultant and corporate and securities lawyer. His responsibilities during his management career have included, as examples, business strategy and development, public and private finance, and mergers and acquisitions. For several years he conducted spiritual meditation workshops for people in recovery. He holds a bachelor's degree from Yale University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a decorated infantry officer in Vietnam. Philip A. Diaz, M.S.W., Founder, Director, Vice President and Chief Development Officer Mr. Diaz is responsible for business development and government relations. He was Chief Executive Officer of Gateway Community Mental Health Center, Jacksonville, Florida until 2005. He served as Deputy Director for Prevention in the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy in the White House under the first "Drug Czar", William Bennett. Mr. Diaz has been a businessman and consultant to private industry and not-for-profit companies in the health care field. He is also a clinical social worker with 30 years' clinical and behavioral health management experience. Mr. Diaz is a nationally recognized expert on substance abuse recovery issues. He has co-authored four books on chemical dependency and other mental health issues and received numerous professional awards. Stuart S. Kassan, M.D., F.A.C.P., Founder, Director, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kassan is a prominent physician in private practice who is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine with added credentials in Geriatrics and serves on the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association of Colorado. He is also a Member of the Medicare Advisory Committee (Consultant Advisory Committee) for the State of Colorado. Dr. Kassan holds an M.D. from George Washington University, trained at Emory Hospital, was a clinical associate at the National Institutes of Health, and a fellow at Cornell University Medical Center. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and is the author or co-author of over 40 articles, book chapters and books on medical or related scientific topics. Maureen Terwilliger, M.S.W., LCSW, National Clinical Services Officer Ms. Terwilliger received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Central Florida. Her clinical expertise includes Clinical Hypnosis, Domestic Violence, and Trauma Resolution. Her administrative experience includes directing various clinical services for Behavioral Healthcare organizations, both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has provided clinical supervision and mentoring to staff and clinical students, and has developed specialized clinical programs, including the first State Certified Batterer's Intervention Program in Brevard County, FL. Ms. Terwilliger sits on numerous local and state boards, and has provided community presentations to the Department of Corrections, Department of Children and Families, to name a few. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, with a specialty in Recreational Therapy. Her clinical certifications include International Academy for Advanced Clinical Hypnosis, The American Institute for Trauma Resolution, Certified Domestic Violence Therapist and EMDR Level II Certification. Jeffrey S. Akman, Director, MD A board certified psychiatrist and the Leon M. Yochelson Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of the George Washington University, Dr. Akman received his bachelor's degree from Duke University and his MD and psychiatric residency training from the George Washington University. He sits on several state and national boards, and has authored numerous publications. Recognized as one of "America's Top Psychiatrists," he has extensive knowledge in the clinical, administrative and financial aspects of the provision of psychiatric services in adults (including the geriatric population) and in the education and training of physicians and psychiatrists. Dr. Akman joined the Board in February, 2007. Ted W. Serbousek, C.P.A., Director Mr. Serbousek is a director of the Company involved with finance activities for Aspire. He has been a Partner in multi franchise automobile dealerships in Florida and Georgia since 1985, and he has worked in accounting for more than 15 years prior to that. Mr. Serbousek has substantial involvement in not for profit health care organizations in Florida and he has served as treasurer in many of those organizations. Mr. Serbousek joined the board in October, 2007. Anthony Gilbert, DirectorMr. Gilbert is Founder, President and CEO of Hardware Resources, a Houston area building products wholesale distributor. He attended University of Houston with a major in Engineering. Hardware Resources was named one of Houston's Top 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2001, and has achieved unprecedented growth in subsequent years. His expertise in the building industry, as well as his business acumen is instrumental in assisting Aspire with all phases of the architectural and construction processes. Dimitrios “Jim” Mantzoros, DPM, FACFAS, Director Dr. Mantzoros is a board certified podiatric surgeon and is the owner and operator of Conroe Foot Specialists, Huntsville Podiatry Associates, Woodlands Foot Specialists, and Lake Area Podiatry Specialists in Texas. Dr. Mantzoros received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degrees from William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago and has served as Clinical Assistant Professor since 1997 at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He is a leader in several professional organizations, including American and Texas Podiatric Medical Associations, American Diabetic Association, and is an honored Fellow, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. In addition to his medical expertise, Dr. Mantzoros has extensive experience in the development and investment of numerous medical properties. He was elected to the Board in June 2008. |
